This ring is made from recycled sterling silver and has been handcrafted from beginning to end. This regal and chunky ring is in fact very lightweight- I have carefully made the ring band from several pieces, instead of casting it as a solid piece, meaning it is super effortless to wear. Although in size there is very little that is dainty about this ring, it for certain feels very feminine. The ring band is simple and smooth, embellished by a small silver tower which feels beautiful under finger, and is surrounded by individually made and hammered pebbles.
This ring is part of a 3-part collection of sterling silver rings. Making these rings has been a beautiful return to the skills and methods I favoured many moons ago! They encouraged a step back from sandcasting, and a move back towards traditional silversmithing, and creating truly one off unique pieces. Hands and hammers and saws and torches and flames, all working together to turn a sheet of silver into a multidimensional sculpture, a layered and carefully built piece of jewellery.
